Hurghada is a year-round destination — that's part of its appeal — but conditions do shift enough across the year to affect what kind of trip you'll have.
Spring (March–May)
Warm, dry days in the high 20s to low 30s°C, sea temperature climbing through the low-to-mid 20s. Good visibility underwater and comfortable enough for full days outdoors. Many consider this the sweet spot.
Summer (June–August)
Hot — often 35–40°C in the peak of the day — and the sea is at its warmest, mid-to-high 20s. Great for swimming and diving, less pleasant for anything strenuous at midday. Desert excursions are usually scheduled for early morning or late afternoon during this stretch.
Autumn (September–November)
Temperatures ease back into the low-to-mid 30s, sea still warm from summer. Similar appeal to spring, with slightly warmer water. A popular window for both beach time and excursions.
Winter (December–February)
Mild by most standards — daytime temperatures around 20–24°C — but noticeably cooler than the rest of the year, especially in the evenings and if wind picks up. Sea temperature drops into the low-to-mid 20s. Still swimmable, though some visitors prefer a wetsuit for longer snorkeling sessions.
