Hurghada's reefs are close enough to shore that almost every boat trip includes some snorkeling, but a few tours are built specifically around it. Here's how the main options compare.

Multi-stop reef trips
Tours like the Magawish adventure boat pack in two or three separate snorkel stops rather than one, better suited to snorkelers who want more time in the water than on the beach.
Island day trips with one stop
Most private island days — Paradise Island, Orange Bay, Mahmya — include a single snorkel stop alongside a longer beach day. Better if snorkeling is a nice-to-have rather than the main event.
Giftun Islands National Park
The Amwag Giftun trip sails into the protected national park specifically, with some of the healthiest reef close to Hurghada.
What to bring
- Reef-safe sunscreen (regular sunscreen can damage coral)
- A rash guard or light shirt for sun protection while snorkeling
- Your own mask if you have one and prefer a familiar fit
Not a confident swimmer?
Life jackets are standard on every boat, and the crew keeps a close eye on less confident swimmers. If you'd rather stay dry altogether, a glass-bottom boat tour or a real submarine dive shows you the same reefs without getting in the water.
